And the summer ends :(

August was a fun month - 3 more QQ's for Trixie and 100+ points for our MACh - just 1 more QQ and 134 more points for nationals!!!! - plus a nice shiny Q in PII standard in USDAA :D

Today we went to a rally trial because, well, there wasn't an agility trial... Unexpectedly it was outside on grass so Scoot and Trix were definitely sniffy but that's what I expected given we haven't done anything (almost literally) obedience wise in at least 3 months... That said they did really well.

Scooter got 2nd and a 4th with 91 and 93 for her 1st RAE2 leg AND miss Trixie got her first RE leg with a 92 and 1st place :)

Next we went inside to do beginner novice with Trixie and I have to say that even though we didn't Q I was happy with A LOT of things Trixie did. Our NQ was when Trixie laid down during the long sit - whatever she was tired, something that's easy to fix when you actually practice...
Here's our performance broken down by exercise:

Heel on lead:
Her attention was in the really decent category! I was definitely really happy with like 50-60% of it - head up and tail wagging! the other 50-40% was more lackluster but not terrible.

Figure 8:
What was that Trixie? it's like you never learned heeling....

Sit for Exam:
Totally fine, nothing much that could go wrong here

Sit Walk Around Ring:
NQ - she laid, or rather slowly slid, into a down - maybe she was just a little slippery but could have stayed sitting if she wanted to

Recall:
GREAT front - everything about this was nice - and no anticipation on the finish! woo

This fall I'm going to start getting serious about her obedience career (well as serious as I get!) and I plan on earning her BN and starting/finishing her CD.
